March Wrap Up + April Goals

including reading and writing

What I Read in March 2024

I didn’t read as much as I would have liked but I’m working on giving myself the grace to not succeed like I always want to. It’s important to slow down and let myself relax instead of always rushing 24/7.

All book covers are included, as well as my ratings. All my reviews are available on my Goodreads and in my Instagram highlights!

  • Crown of Midnight (Sarah J. Maas) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reread

  • Heir of Fire (Sarah J. Maas) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reread

  • Queen of Shadows (Sarah J. Maas) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reread

  • Empire of Storms (Sarah J. Maas) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reread

  • Tower of Dawn (Sarah J. Maas) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reread

  • Kingdom of Ash (Sarah J. Maas) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reread

  • Slaying the Vampire Conqueror (Carissa Broadbent) ⭐⭐

  • The Foxhole Court (Nora Sakavic) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • But He’s My Fake Fiance (Annah Conwell) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Fate Breaker (Victoria Aveyard) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

What I Wrote in March 2024

I had a fun little writing competition with @_makaylajade_author on Instagram to see who could write the most words in a week (spoiler alert: I won). I hit 10k in Tatiana’s pov (learn more about Project Blood on my Instagram!) which means I’m only 20k behind lol.

Like with reading, I didn’t write as much as I had wanted to. I had a lot going on with school and I was working a lot so the stuff I do for fun (namely reading and writing) took the backseat.

But anyway, enjoy this little unedited quotation from this month!

"I sit back down in my chair and fidget with the signet ring on my right ring finger. Sometimes I move it to my left ring finger because I’m more married to my kingdom than I will be to anyone else. It’s the reason I have yet to start looking for a partner even though I am using my brother as a bargaining chip. Anyone married to me would always come second to my work, it isn’t a life I would want to subject anyone to. Everyone deserves love and attention, which is why I will likely stay unmarried for many years. The only reason I would get married is to continue the Fier line since Ben, if he marries Princess Renata, will become a Sterling."

What I Want to Read in April 2024

I have a handful of ARCs that I need to catch up on as well as some books that I have started but haven’t finished. So my main goals for reading in April are just setting myself up in a good spot for the summer!

  • Rising (Nelle Nikole)

  • Echoes of War (Nelle Nikole)

  • House of Flame and Shadow (Sarah J. Maas)

  • If I Stay (Gayle Forman)

  • Scavenge the Stars (Tara Sim)

  • Destroy the Day (Brigid Kemmerer)

  • A Tempest of Tea (Hafsah Faizal)

  • House of Marionne (J. Elle)

Have you read any of these? If you have let me know what you think!

What I Want to Write in April 2024

I want to have 40k in Tatiana’s pov by the end of the month so that means I’m going to try my hand at writing 30k. I’ve won NaNoWriMo (50k in a month) three times in a row but this is a different time of year so I don’t know how successful I will be. I will be updating of course on Instagram and I will post an update on the first of next month. I’m going away for April vacation so I’m not sure how that will affect my writing which is why I am going to spend as much time as I can writing. In fact, today I am going to a bookstore and will spend the day writing there so I am not distracted by my tv.
